Google Calendar in iPhone & Android – Set Up

Adding Planned Time to Google Calendar

This needs to be done using the Google Calendar home page, then the calendar will be visible both online and in the Google Calendar apps

Click on the + next to the text Other Calendars

Select From URL

Paste the URL from your iCal link and click on Add calendar

Click on the calendar you have just added and then select Event notifications to setup alerts

Refreshing your Calendar

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to force Google to update your iCal calendar, it will do it automatically do it every 8 to 12 hours.

Other calendar applications such as the iPhone calendar app allow you to force a refresh but Google doesn’t currently have this option.

You can however view your up-to-date Planned Time using our Paprika App.

Once you have added your iCal calendar using the Google Calendar webpage it will also be visible on your Google Calendar app on your iPhone

Setting up Notifications on Google Calendar App on iPhone

If you set up notifications using the Google Calendar you do not need to repeat the process. If you didn’t set up notifications on the Google Calendar website you can do it on the app:

Updating and Viewing your Planned Time

Although you are unable to update your Planned Time in your calendar application, you can update it using our Paprika App

Click on the Paprika App

Android

Google Calendar App on an Android Phone

After adding the copied URL from iCalendar to Google calendar via webpage,

a) Open Google Calendar on your phone

b) Click on the three horizontal lines on the top left-hand corner as shown below

c) Go to Settings

d) Click on the link below your personal email address

e) Slide the button next to Sync which will sync iCalendar to your google calendar and you can also change the name to Paprika by clicking on the link
